Valentine arrived looking serviceable but with plenty of room for improvement.

Not knowing exactly what this horse might have looked like when new, pleasing his new little rider was the priority.

His stand (a curious specimen, early Roebuck design but so much larger even than a No 6 Roebuck stand) was stripped, repaired and varnished.

Valentine got all-over soft dappling done by hand, then fitted with deep raspberry pink velvet saddle cloths, matching handmade rosettes, deep cherry and tan leather harness with brass fittings. Finally, silver horse hair.
